10.5.12 - Instagram Overview
Key Instagram details:
- Instagram is a real-time social photo- sharing network
- Allows users to share images with captions to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Flickr, and Foursquare from one place
- Allows users to add filters to their pictures before publishing
- Users can follow other accounts to see other users’ photos (just as one would follow a user or page on Facebook)
- Shows photos in a continuous feed (only shows photos of the users he/she follows)
- Instagram currently has privacy settings in place
- Allows user communication (commenting, “likes”, and @mentions)
- Facebook acquired Instagram this past April
